Oracle hardware support in Dubai and the UAE

Expert support for Oracle SPARC servers, Exadata, ZFS storage and Oracle x86 systems: maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades and migration, from engineers who know Oracle systems.

Keep critical Oracle systems running

Oracle hardware runs some of the most important systems in UAE organisations: core databases, ERP platforms, billing systems and government applications. These systems are often in place for many years, and the people who installed them may have moved on. Meanwhile, the hardware ages, firmware falls behind, and finding engineers with hands-on Oracle experience becomes harder.

ITConnect provides Oracle hardware support for organisations across the UAE. Our engineers maintain and troubleshoot SPARC servers running Solaris, Exadata database machines, Oracle Database Appliance, ZFS Storage Appliance and Oracle x86 servers. We perform health checks, apply firmware and patches where you are entitled to them, diagnose failures, coordinate parts and vendor support, and plan upgrades or migrations when systems approach the end of their supported life.

Whether you have an Oracle support contract and need hands-on engineering help, or you’re considering alternatives for older systems, we help you keep critical workloads stable and secure.

Is this you?

  • You run Oracle SPARC or Exadata systems and the original engineers have left
  • Firmware and patches haven’t been applied for a long time
  • Hardware errors appear in the logs and nobody is sure what they mean
  • You’re deciding whether to renew Oracle support, use third-party support or migrate
  • You need a plan for ageing Oracle hardware before it fails

What we do with Oracle hardware

Health checks

A full review of hardware status, firmware levels, logs, redundancy, storage health and configuration, with a written report and prioritised recommendations.

Preventive maintenance

Scheduled checks and maintenance to catch failing components early.

Troubleshooting and repair

Diagnosis of hardware faults using ILOM and system logs, part identification, replacement and recovery.

Firmware and patching

Planning and applying firmware and operating system updates you are entitled to, during agreed maintenance windows.

Vendor coordination

Opening and managing Oracle support cases on your behalf where you hold an Oracle contract.

Upgrades and capacity

Adding memory, storage and capacity, and re-architecting where needed.

Migration

Moving workloads from ageing Oracle hardware to newer platforms, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or other environments.

What is Oracle SPARC?

SPARC is a family of processors and enterprise servers originally developed by Sun Microsystems and continued by Oracle after it acquired Sun. SPARC servers typically run Oracle Solaris and are known for reliability, strong virtualization features such as Oracle VM Server for SPARC (LDoms) and Solaris Zones, and long service lives. Many UAE organisations still run core databases and applications on SPARC. Oracle has published long-term support commitments for Solaris and SPARC, but new hardware development has slowed, so most organisations are now planning how long to keep these systems and where to move them next. Check Oracle’s current lifetime support policy for exact dates.

What is Oracle Exadata?

Exadata is Oracle’s engineered system for running Oracle Database. It combines database servers, intelligent storage servers and high-speed networking in a single rack, with software features that accelerate database queries and improve availability. Exadata is used for demanding workloads such as core banking, telecom billing, large ERP systems and data warehouses. It is available on premises, as Exadata Cloud@Customer in your own premises, and in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Because Exadata combines hardware and software tightly, it needs engineers who understand both. Software updates and patches require an appropriate Oracle support entitlement.

Oracle support or third-party support?

Best forCritical, actively updated systemsStable legacy systems nearing retirement

Our honest view: For critical, actively developed systems such as Exadata running production databases, staying on Oracle support is usually the safer choice, and we work alongside it as your hands-on engineering team. For older, stable systems that no longer need new patches and are scheduled for retirement, third-party hardware support can be a sensible bridge. Make sure you understand what you lose, especially security patches and firmware entitlement, before switching.

Is Oracle hardware support from us right for you?

Good fit if…

  • You need experienced engineers for Oracle systems
  • Your in-house team lacks Solaris or Exadata skills
  • You’re planning a migration and need a stable bridge

Not ideal if…

  • You expect us to provide Oracle software patches without an Oracle entitlement
  • Your systems are already fully managed by Oracle Advanced Customer Services
  • You only need general Windows server support

How we work

  1. Inventory and health check

We document every Oracle system, its configuration, support status and risks.

  2. Support plan

We agree service levels, maintenance windows, escalation paths and responsibilities alongside any Oracle contract.

  3. Remediation

We fix urgent issues and bring firmware and configuration to a safe baseline where entitled.

  4. Ongoing support

Preventive maintenance, monitoring, incident response and reporting.

  5. Lifecycle planning

A roadmap for upgrades, consolidation or migration.

What to do with ageing Oracle systems

Most organisations running older SPARC or first-generation engineered systems have four options. Keep and support the existing hardware while it remains stable and supported. Refresh to newer Oracle hardware for workloads that must stay on the Oracle platform. Move to the cloud, for example Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Exadata Cloud@Customer, to reduce hardware management. Or migrate workloads to x86 servers running Oracle Linux or other platforms where application support allows. The right path depends on your applications, licences, data rules and risk tolerance. We assess each workload and give you a clear, phased roadmap.

Why ITConnect for Oracle hardware

Oracle experience in the UAE

Engineers who have worked hands-on with SPARC, Solaris, Exadata and ZFS storage.

Honest advice

We tell you when Oracle support is the right choice, and when an alternative makes sense.

One team for the whole environment

We also support the network, storage, backup and Windows systems around your Oracle platform.

Clear documentation

Every system documented so you’re never dependent on one person.

Case study

A UAE organisation running SPARC servers for its core database needed engineering support after its in-house specialist left. We performed a health check, resolved its hardware warnings, brought firmware up to date and built a migration roadmap.

Oracle Hardware Support questions, answered

What is Oracle hardware support?

Maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and lifecycle planning for Oracle servers, engineered systems and storage, such as SPARC, Exadata and ZFS Storage Appliance.

What is Oracle SPARC?

Oracle’s family of enterprise servers and processors, originally from Sun Microsystems, typically running Oracle Solaris for critical workloads.

What is Oracle Exadata?

Oracle’s engineered system for running Oracle Database, combining servers, storage and networking optimised for performance and availability.

What is Oracle third-party support?

Hardware support from a provider other than Oracle, often used for stable legacy systems. It usually doesn’t include Oracle firmware, patches or security updates, so it suits systems that are nearing retirement.

Can you work alongside our Oracle support contract?

Yes. Many clients keep Oracle support for parts and patches, and use us as their hands-on engineering team for maintenance, troubleshooting and projects.

Do you support Solaris as well as hardware?

Yes. We support Oracle Solaris administration, including zones, LDoms, ZFS and patching where entitled.

Can you migrate us off SPARC?

Yes. We assess application compatibility and licensing, then plan migrations to x86, Oracle Cloud or other platforms in phases.

Do you support Oracle hardware outside Dubai?

Yes, across the UAE, with remote support and on-site engineers for hands-on work.

How quickly can you respond to an Oracle hardware failure?

Response times are agreed in your support plan, with critical systems prioritised for immediate remote response and on-site attendance.

Do you provide spare parts?

Where you hold an Oracle contract, parts come through Oracle and we coordinate replacement. For third-party support, we source tested compatible parts and agree spares holding for critical systems.
