Wi-Fi is now your main network
In most offices today, more devices connect by Wi-Fi than by cable. Laptops, phones, tablets, meeting room screens, printers, barcode scanners and smart devices all depend on it. Yet many businesses still run on Wi-Fi designed for a home: an ISP router in a corner, a few extenders, and dead spots in the rooms that matter most.
The result is familiar. Video calls freeze in the boardroom, staff move to the corridor to get signal, guests connect to the same network as your finance team, and nobody can tell why the Wi-Fi is “slow today”.
Business Wi-Fi works differently. Instead of one strong router, it uses several centrally managed access points mounted on ceilings, each connected by cable and placed according to a survey. Devices move smoothly between access points as people walk around. Staff, guests and devices are separated onto different networks. And everything is managed and monitored from one dashboard.
ITConnect designs and installs business Wi-Fi for offices, warehouses, clinics, schools, retail stores and hospitality sites across Dubai and the UAE.

What you get
Site survey
A predictive design from your floor plan, followed by an on-site survey that measures signal and interference. You see heat maps before and after installation.
Business-grade access points
Ceiling-mounted access points, each connected by structured cabling and powered over Ethernet, placed for coverage and capacity.
Seamless roaming
Devices move between access points without dropping calls or connections.
Guest Wi-Fi
A separate, internet-only network for visitors, with an optional branded login page and time limits.
Security
WPA3 encryption, separate networks for staff, guests and devices, and integration with your firewall and user accounts where needed.
Cloud management and monitoring
All access points managed from one dashboard, with alerts, firmware updates and usage reports.
What is Wi-Fi 6, and do you need Wi-Fi 7?
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is the generation of Wi-Fi that most business access points use today. Its main advantage isn’t raw speed; it is efficiency. Wi-Fi 6 handles many devices at once far better than older Wi-Fi, reduces interference between them, and improves battery life on phones and laptops. That makes it ideal for busy offices where dozens of people are on video calls at the same time.
Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6 GHz band, which offers more clean channels with less interference, where permitted and supported by devices. Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) increases speed and reduces delay further, and is a good choice for new installations planned to last several years.
The right choice depends on your devices, budget and how long you expect the system to last. For most offices, Wi-Fi 6 or 6E gives excellent results today, and Wi-Fi 7 is worth considering for new buildings. Note that faster access points benefit from Cat6A cabling. See Structured Cabling
How to improve Wi-Fi signal in your office
Replace extenders with access points
Extenders halve speed and add delay. Cabled access points don’t.
Mount access points on the ceiling
Signal spreads down and outwards; shelves and cupboards block it.
Plan by capacity, not just coverage
A meeting room with 20 people needs more capacity than a corridor.
Use the right channels and power
Too much power causes interference between access points.
Separate guests and devices
Fewer devices on each network means better performance.
Check the internet line
Sometimes Wi-Fi is blamed for a slow or overloaded internet connection.
Keep firmware updated
Updates fix bugs and improve performance.
Coverage is not enough: plan for capacity
Many Wi-Fi problems happen in places with full signal bars. The reason is capacity. Each access point can only serve a certain number of active devices well, and a meeting room with twenty people on video calls, or a canteen at lunchtime, can overload a single access point even though the signal looks strong. Good Wi-Fi design plans both: coverage, so every area has a good signal, and capacity, so busy areas have enough access points and the right channel plan. We ask how many people use each space, what they do there and which devices they use, then design accordingly.
Keeping your Wi-Fi secure
Wi-Fi is one of the easiest ways into a network if it’s set up carelessly. We use WPA3 or WPA2-Enterprise encryption, so staff log in with individual accounts rather than one shared password that never changes. Guest networks are fully isolated and only reach the internet. Devices such as printers, TVs and sensors go on their own network. Rogue access point detection warns you if someone plugs in an unauthorised device. And access point firmware is kept up to date, because wireless vulnerabilities are regularly discovered and fixed.
Choosing a Wi-Fi installation company in Dubai
Ask whether the company does a proper survey and provides heat maps before and after. Check that the access points are business-grade and centrally managed, not consumer mesh kits. Make sure cabling is included or coordinated. Ask how the system will be monitored and updated after installation, and who you call if coverage drops. A cheap installation without a survey usually ends with extra access points added later at extra cost.

Case study
A large warehouse in Jebel Ali had scanners dropping connection between aisles. After a survey and new high-ceiling access points, coverage reached every aisle.
Wi-Fi Solutions questions, answered
What is Wi-Fi 6?
The current mainstream generation of Wi-Fi (802.11ax). It handles many devices at once much better than older Wi-Fi, which makes it ideal for busy offices.
How can I improve my Wi-Fi signal?
Replace consumer routers and extenders with business access points mounted on the ceiling, connected by cable, and placed using a site survey.
How many access points do I need?
It depends on the area, walls and number of users. A survey gives the exact number. m² in open offices]
Can you do Wi-Fi for a warehouse?
Yes, including high-ceiling and outdoor access points for scanners and forklifts.
Do we need new cabling?
Each access point needs a network cable. We add points where needed during installation.
Can guests be kept away from our systems?
Yes. Guest Wi-Fi is fully separated and only has internet access.
Can you fix our existing Wi-Fi without replacing everything?
Often yes. A survey may show that moving or adding a few access points and changing settings solves the problem.
Can we use our existing ISP router?
The router can stay for the internet connection, but Wi-Fi should be switched off on it and handled by business access points, managed alongside your firewall.
Do you offer Wi-Fi monitoring?
Yes. We can monitor access points 24/7, alert on outages and send monthly usage reports. See Network Monitoring
How long does a Wi-Fi installation take?
A typical office takes a few days from survey to validation, provided cabling is in place. Larger or multi-floor sites take longer.
