Make your systems talk to each other
Most businesses run on many systems: a website, an online store, an ERP, a CRM, an accounting package, a delivery partner, payment providers and marketing tools. When they don’t share data, people fill the gaps by copying and pasting: re-entering orders, updating stock by hand, exporting spreadsheets and reconciling payments at month-end. It’s slow, error-prone and impossible to scale.
APIs solve this. They let systems exchange information automatically and securely, so an order placed online appears in the ERP, a payment updates the invoice, a delivery status reaches the customer, and a new lead lands in the CRM, without anyone touching it.
ITConnect builds API integrations for UAE businesses: payment gateway integration for websites and apps, ERP and CRM connections, e-commerce and marketplace integrations, delivery and logistics APIs, and custom APIs that expose your own systems to partners and apps. Every integration is designed with error handling, monitoring and security, so it keeps working long after launch.

What is an API?
An API (application programming interface) is a defined way for one piece of software to request information or actions from another. Think of it as a waiter in a restaurant: you don’t go into the kitchen; you give your order to the waiter, who brings back what you asked for. Similarly, an app sends a request to an API, such as “get this customer’s orders” or “charge this card”, and the API returns a response. Most modern web APIs use REST or GraphQL and exchange data in JSON format over secure HTTPS connections.
What is API integration?
API integration is connecting two or more systems through their APIs so they can exchange data and trigger actions automatically. For example, integrating an online store with an ERP means new orders are sent to the ERP, stock levels are sent back to the store, and invoices are created automatically. Good API integration includes mapping data between systems, handling errors and retries, securing credentials, logging activity and monitoring for failures.
Payment gateway integration for UAE websites and apps
Accepting payments online requires a payment gateway: a service that securely processes card and wallet payments. We integrate UAE and international gateways with websites, e-commerce stores, mobile apps and custom systems. This includes hosted payment pages or embedded checkouts, Apple Pay and Google Pay, saved cards and recurring payments for subscriptions, refunds and partial refunds, webhooks to update orders automatically, 3-D Secure authentication, and reconciliation with your accounting or ERP. Because card data is handled by the payment provider, your systems stay out of the most sensitive part of the process, reducing your PCI compliance burden.
API development
Sometimes you need your own API, for example so a mobile app can access your database, partners can submit orders, or several internal systems can share a single source of truth. We design and build secure, well-documented APIs with authentication, rate limiting, versioning and monitoring, using frameworks such as Laravel and Node.js.

Keeping integrations secure
Integrations move sensitive data such as customer details, orders and payments, so security is designed in from the start. We use encrypted connections, strong authentication such as OAuth or signed API keys, least-privilege service accounts, secure storage of secrets, input validation, rate limiting to prevent abuse, and verification of webhook signatures so fake requests are rejected. We follow OWASP API security guidance and log activity for auditing. Credentials can be rotated without disrupting service.
Reliable integrations: errors, retries and monitoring
Every integration eventually meets a problem: a system is down for maintenance, a field is missing, a rate limit is hit. Good integrations expect this. We queue messages so nothing is lost, retry failed calls sensibly, flag records that need human review, and monitor integration health with alerts. A dashboard shows what’s been synced and what’s waiting, so problems are visible immediately rather than discovered at month-end.
Real-time, scheduled or event-driven?
Some data needs to move instantly, such as payments and stock availability. Other data can move on a schedule, such as nightly reports or bank imports. Event-driven integrations respond to specific triggers like an order being shipped. We choose the right approach for each flow, balancing speed, reliability and system load.
Who needs API integration
E-commerce businesses connecting stores, ERP and couriers; companies adding online payments to websites or apps; businesses linking CRM, marketing and sales tools; logistics companies sharing tracking with customers; and organisations building apps or partner portals on top of existing systems.
Integration platforms vs custom code
For straightforward connections between popular apps, integration platforms and ready-made connectors can be quick and cost-effective. For complex logic, high volumes, sensitive data or systems without standard connectors, custom integrations give more control and reliability. We often combine both: connectors where they work well, and custom middleware where business rules or reliability demand it. We’ll recommend the simplest approach that will hold up as you grow.
Choosing an API integration partner
Ask how they handle errors, retries and monitoring, not just the “happy path”. Check experience with your specific systems and payment providers. Ask how they secure credentials and test with realistic data. Make sure integrations are documented and that you’ll have access to logs and dashboards. And confirm who supports the integration when one of the connected systems changes its API.
Case study
A UAE retailer integrated its WooCommerce store, Odoo ERP, payment gateway and courier. Orders now flow automatically, stock updates in real time, and payments reconcile daily.
API Integration questions, answered
